Monika Uesson-Talpak

Born on July 4, in Stockholm, Sweden. Immigrated to Toronto, Canada with her parents. Attended University of Toronto and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology (1973); graduated from the Ontario College of Art with Honours (1975).

Worked as a commercial artist, illustrator/designer, for approximately 18 years; also taught art at a community college. First in a group of artists to be exhibited by the Estonian Arts Centre in Toronto (1973).
Has exhibited at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, as a member. Member of EKKT since 1975 and has exhibited at group exhibitions with both EKKT and EKK (Estonian Art Centre). In 1994 invited to join the Toronto Heleconian Club (a private club for professional women in the arts and letters). Periodically exhibits at the Toronto Heleconian Hall on Hazelton Avenue.

Extensive shows in Toronto, Sweden and Austria. Articles in periodicals, catalogues and files. Works in private and public collections. Presently lives and works in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Sündinud 4. juulil Stockholmis, Rootsis. Tuli Kanadasse koos vanematega. Lõpetas Toronto Ulikooli B.A. kraadiga psühholoogias (1973). Lõpetas Ontario College of Art'i silmapaistvalt (Honours) (1975).

Töötas ligi 18 aastat kaubanduskunstniku, illustraatori ja kavandajana. Opetas koolis kunsti. Oli esimene kunstnike grupist, keda esitleti näitusel Eesti Kunstide Keskuse poolt Torontos (1973). On EKKT liige alates 1975.a., esinenud EKKT grupinäitustel ja Eesti Kunstide Keskuse näitustel. 1994.a. kutsuti Toronto Heleconian Club'i liikmeks (privaatklubi professionaalsetele naistele, kes tegelevad kunsti ja kirjandusega). Perioodiliselt esineb Toronto Heleconian Hall'is Hazelton avenüül.

Ekstensiivsed näitused Torontos, Rootsis ja Austrias. Artikleid ajalehtedes, kataloogides ja kartoteekides. Töid privaat- ja avalikes kollektsioonides. Elab ja töötab Torontos, Ontarios, Kanadas.
